Reel TV Ratings: (Wednesday) – ABC Has Rough Night With Modern Family & Designated Survivor Hitting Series Lows

ABC was down in the ratings scores the board last night but the news was particularly bad for Modern Family & especially Designated Survivor.

The Goldbergs (1.3, 5.42 million viewers) and Modern Family (1.3, 4.92 million viewers) each fell four tenths of a point, with Modern Family scoring a series low. Designated Survivor returned from hiatus to a series-low 0.6 demo rating & 3.73 million viewers. Speechless (1.0, -0.3,  4.07 million viewers) and American Housewife (1.1, -0.1, 4.11 million viewers) also dipped for ABC.

FOX lead for scripted programming with 9-1-1 hitting a 1.5 demo rating & 5.92 million viewers. The series was down 0.2 from its last outing but still strong for the network. The X-Files began their night with a 0.8 demo rating & 3.24 million viewers, down a tenth from its last airing.

On NBC, Chicago PD  returned from its Olympics break with a 1.2 demo rating & 6.07 million viewers, even with its last outing. The Blacklist (0.9, 5.67 million viewers) and Law & Order: SVU (1.1, 5.56 million viewers) were off 0.1 and 0.2.

On CBS, SEAL Team hit a series low 0.8 demo rating & 4.99 million viewers.
