Reel TV Ratings: (Thursday) – TGIT Lineup Returns Strong On ABC

The surge in ratings that have been occurring all week, continued on Thursday with the strong return of the TGIT lineup on ABC.

How to Get Away with Murder tied its season high in adults 18-49 with a 1.0 demo rating and 3.77 million viewers. Grey’s Anatomy (2.2, 8.18 million viewers) and Scandal (1.3, 5.17 million viewers) each had their second-best outings of the season. Grey’s also delivered its biggest total audience in 11 months.

As they have the last couple of weeks, CBS led the night in both adults 18-49 and viewers, although three of its five shows had small declines. The Big Bang Theory (2.9, 14.69 million viewers) and Young Sheldon (2.4, 13.24 million viewers) were each off a tenth of a point vs. last week’s numbers. SWAT was also off a tenth at a 1.0 demo score and 5.99 million viewers. Mom (1.6, 9.26 million viewers) and Life in Pieces (1.2, 6.79 million viewers) were steady.

Supernatural returned to The CW with a 0.6 demo rating and 1.87 million viewers, matching its last episode of 2017. Arrow rose a tenth to a 0.5 demo score and 1.42 million viewers.

At NBC, Will & Grace rebounded from last week’s season low, growing by 0.2 to a 1.3 demo rating and 4.49 million viewers. Great News (0.7, 2.51 million viewers) and Chicago Fire (1.0, 5.65 million viewers) were each up a tenth, The Good Place was flat at a 1.0 demo rating and 3.08 million viewers and Superstore slipped a tenth to a 1.0 demo score and 3.71 million viewers.
