Sunday night gave us 3 series premieres and while two started ok for their respective networks, the third seems dead on arrival.
FOX’s Ghosted scored a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49 & 3.56 million viewers, retaining all of its lead-in from The Simpsons (1.4 demo score and 3.25 million viewers). On CBS, Wisdom of the Crowd also scored a 1.4 demo rating & 8.88 million viewers (pending updates due to an NFL overrun), in line with the 1.5 demo score for NCIS: Los Angeles in the same timeslot last year.
The third premiere, ABC’s Ten Days in the Valley, managed just a 0.6 demo rating & 3.47 million viewers. The debut is surprising considering the promotion ABC put into it and its warm reception from critics. It now has the distinction of being the lowest rated series premiere of the week.
The rest of Sunday night programming pretty much stayed in line with their year ago numbers. NCIS: LA (1.2 demo rating, 8.48 million viewers) was down 0.3 from its 2016 premiere and 0.1 from its 2016-17 average for CBS. At FOX, Family Guy (1.3 demo score, 2.85 million viewers) and The Last Man on Earth (0.9 demo rating, 2.34 million viewers) all matched their year-ago debuts, while Bob’s Burgers (1.3, 3.03 million viewers) is currently up a tenth vs. last year, pending updates (also due to a NFL overrun.
