With the release of Mel Gibson’s latest film Hacksaw Ridge, it is safe to say that the war film will be a contender in the Oscar race this year. Whether it gets in one or many categories, the reviews have earned the film enough praise among Oscar talk.

This week’s Reel Top 10 will add to it by counting down the top 10 War films. These films have touched the subject matter in such a way that we can still mention these films in the conversation of the genre’s finest.
