The show has had a 33-episode run that made it stand out from most procedural series and despite there being more story to tell on the show, it was canceled. However, creators Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver spoke with Deadline and they confirmed,  that they have not given up on keeping Prodigal Son going forward on a new home, The duo stated,

“WBTV is shopping it as we speak”,

This would not be the first time a show has been rescued after cancelation and fans of the series would surely welcome a return.
