Peter Quill and Peter Parker are trading in saving the world from Thanos, for Disney/Pixar animation. Their real-life counterparts, Chris Pratt & Tom Holland, are lending their voices to Onward, Disney/Pixar’s first non-sequel release in nearly three years. A new trailer has arrived and the duo seems like they will be quite the pair, playing brothers in the latest animated effort.
Onward comes from Monsters University filmmaker Dan Scanlon and revolves around the suburban fantasy life of two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out in the world. The project appears to be a personal one for Scanlon as it’s inspired by his relationship with his own brother.
Those lucky enough to attend the D23 Expo got to see early footage of the film, although it was a bit overshadowed by Tom Holland appearing at the event soon after the Spider-Man Sony/Disney divorce. Thankfully mom and dad have since kissed and made up, making things all right with the universe once again.
Also featuring the vocal talents of Julia Louis-Dreyfus & Octavia Spencer, Onward hits screens on March 6, 2020.
