In order to make up for all of the theater closures, it’s becoming the norm for many studios to start releasing recent releases to video-on-demand services so that moviegoers can watch while stuck at home. The latest announcement comes from Disney Studios. Onward is ready for purchase today for $19.99 despite it having just hit theaters earlier this month. You’ll also be able to stream it on Disney+ starting April 3rd.
“While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” said director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae.
