New Movies in Theaters: Ghostbusters, The Infiltrator, & Cafe Society

This week at the movies, you can strap on your proton pack to bust some ghosts, follow a customs agent on his journey to capture “The King of Cocaine” or delve into 1930s Hollywood in Woody Allen’s latest comedy.

Ghostbusters

First up, the female-led reboot to the original Ghostbusters (1984). Directed by Paul Feig (BridesmaidsSpy), and starring an all-star comedic ensemble in Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, Ghostbusters restarts the franchise with this foursome banding together to defeat a ghost invasion. Bryan Cranston stars as Robert Mazur, an undercover U.S. Customs special agent who infiltrates a major drug cartel, eventually gaining access to the money-laundering organization of Pablo Escobar.

Set in the 1930s, a a young New Yorker moves to Hollywood in search of fame. He soon falls in love with the secretary of his uncle, an agent to the stars. Eventually, he returns to New York, where he is swept up by nightclub life.
