23 years after Jennifer Lopez played the late Selena Quintanilla, The Walking Dead’s Christian Serratos may be set to take the role in the upcoming Netflix series.
First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is in negotiations to star as late Tejano music star. Netflix, which declined comment on Serratos’ casting, is in negotiations with the actress that has come down to scheduling issues as she juggles production in Atlanta on the upcoming tenth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead.
Serratos has played comic book favorite Rosita since the fourth season of the zombie drama. While a premiere date and episode count for Selena: The Series have not yet been determined, it is unclear if the episodes will be an hour or a half-hour in length.
Selena: The Series is set to run for two seasons when it commences.
