In just a few short weeks, the world will be glued to their tv as Super Bowl 52 will be taken place. All throughout this years NFL season, there have been players who have chosen to protest social inequality by kneeling. Now that the big game is a few weeks away, Fred Gaudelli, who also runs Sunday Night Football and NBC’s coverage of Thursday Night Football, was asked about the potential kneeling during the Super Bowl.
“It’s certainly possible,” Gaudelli said of the chances of the protests taking place at the marquee event. “It was a pretty big story in our country this fall. We’d show it. When you’re covering a live event, you’re covering what’s happening. If there are players who chose to kneel, they will be shown live.”
Gaudelli also used his time onstage at the press tour to stress that NBC Sports will be using the Super Bowl to plug the Winter Olympics which in a way is smart for NBC to plug their next big event, should not come in between focusing on the biggest sporting event of the year.
