Suicide Squad Breaks Record For August Thursday Night Opening

Despite the not so positive reviews so far for Suicide Squad, it has not stopped the film from breaking records. The film earned $20.5 million at Thursday night preview screenings, outpacing the $11.2 million that Guardians of the Galaxy earned in its previous record-breaking weekend a few years back.The latest entry in DC’s extended universe easily took the record for the best Thursday night haul ever in August, and is on pace to top the $94 million August opening weekend record, which also belongs to Guardians.
