Anna Kendrick Wants to Play “Squirrel Girl”

In the June 30th issue of Net-a-Porter’s The Edit magazine, Anna Kendrick confirmed her desire to play comic super heroine Squirrel Girl.

“My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should (play her),” Kendrick told the magazine. “I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”

Created in 1992, Squirrel Girl, whose real name is Doreen Green, can communicate with squirrels and uses her power to fight crime in Los Angeles and later, New York City. She’s introduced to the comic book world as wanting to become a sidekick for Iron Man. After deciding she’s too young, she decides to make a go of it on her own.

There’s no word yet of a movie nor has Kendrick been tapped to play the role, but fans were lively on Twitter with their support.

What do you think? Any other choices. Sound off in the comments.
