Edward Norton plays a lonely private eye living with Tourette syndrome in 1950s New York City in the first trailer for Motherless Brooklyn.
Norton takes on writing and directing duties on top of playing Lionel Essrog, a private eye who is armed only with a few clues and the engine of his obsessive mind to unravel closely-guarded secrets that hold the fate of the whole city in the balance. The film also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Leslie Mann, Ethan Suplee, Dallas Roberts, Josh Pais, Robert Ray Wisdom, Fisher Stevens, Alec Baldwin, and Willem Dafoe.
