The latest Mission Impossible film has been in the news lately. Now that the onset drama seems to have ended, filming is set to wrap imminently on the 7th entry and Paramount has made an announcement regarding the 8th film. Paramount has declared that shooting for the sequel will be postponed.
The reason for the change is based on a shift in Paramount’s release calendar and because Tom Cruise will soon be promoting Top Gun: Maverick ahead of the film’s July 2 release, this will push Cruise out of the Mission: Impossible loop for a brief period of time. Once the PR blitz for Maverick is complete, Cruise will return to film the 8th entry.
Mission: Impossible helmer Chris McQuarrie recently offered an update for the franchise’s seventh installment via Instagram, saying that the team has now wrapped a successful shoot in the Middle East and are traveling back to London where a few “finishing touches” will be applied to the project.
Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 19.2021
