If you’re like me and binged Mindhunter faster than the speed of light, you’ll be excited to learn that Netflix has formally ordered a second season of the crime drama series from producer David Fincher.
The renewal was just a matter of time as plans for a second season were already underway ahead of the season one premiere by the creative team. The series premiered with strong reviews from critics and became an instant favorite on the streaming service.
The series stars Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany and also features Anna Torv, Hannah Gross, and newcomer Cameron Britton, who portrays serial killer Ed Kemper.
Netflix is on a role with its original programming. Of 18 new scripted series to premiere on Netflix in 2017, 13 have been renewed, two canceled after one season and three pending, with most if not all of them looking good to come back. Most streaming services tend to give their shows a chance a longer time to grow in comparison to network TV.
