Miles Teller Officially Cast As Goose’s Son In Top Gun: Maverick

Miles Teller is about to feel the need for speed. The actor has officially landed the role of Goose’s son in the Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick.

The role of Goose’s son was a hot one and many of young Hollywood’s finest were chasing it, even traveling to Cruise’s home in Clearwater, Florida, for the testing process. Along with Teller, Nicholas Hoult & Glen Powell were on the final short list of actors who were up for the role but I suspected Teller would nab it since he’s technically a bigger draw. Also working in Teller’s favor is that the new Top Gun is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who directed Teller previously in the true-life firefighting movie, Only The Brave.

Teller’s character will be a protege of Maverick’s along with being Goose’s son who was played by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 film.

Production on Top Gun: Maverick is already underway in San Diego and has a release date of July 12, 2019.
