While little is known about the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man Homecoming, the cast is starting to take shape. On Monday, it was announced that Jake Gyllenhaal was set to play Mysterio in the upcoming film.
On Tuesday news broke that Michael Keaton is returning to reprise his role as Vulture. The tease to his possible appearance in the sequel was set during the post credit scene of Homecoming. During the post credit scene, Keaton’s Adrian Toomes is in prison being confronted by a scarred Mac Gargan (Michael Mando), who says he knows “some boys on the outside” who would love to meet Spider-Man. However, Toomes refuses to give up Peter Parker’s identity, likely indicating that he’s grateful for Peter Parker. Gargan is the alter-ego of Spidey’s comic book nemesis The Scorpion, another occasional member of The Sinister Six.
Spiderman will swing his way into theaters in 2019.
