Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’ Gets December Release Date

Paramount Pictures is giving Martin Scorsese’s new film a major awards season push. Silence has been given a December 23rd release date.

It had been up in the air as to if the film would be ready for this fall, and if it would be bumped for a Cannes premiere in the spring. As early as a month ago, it was widely being heard that Silence would definitely be ready for this year. The question was when.

Paramount Pictures will  give Silence a limited debut on December 23rd before going wide in January. That’s a similar platform that 20th Century Fox/Regency’s The Revenant took when it was released.
