Marni Nixon, Iconic Film Singer, Dies at Age 86

While you may have never seen Marni Nixon on the big screen, you heard her. Nixon made a career as a soprano singer, but is notably remembered for her singing in films The King and IMy Fair Lady and West Side Story.

When actresses like Deborah Kerr, Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Wood couldn’t carry a tune, Nixon’s singing was dubbed over them in these films, yet she was never given a formal film credit.
