Madonna To Direct & Co-Write Her Own Biopic

For cinephiles that have been longing a Madonna biopic, you’re about to get your wish, just not in the fashion you expected.  Madonna is set to write and direct the story of her own life for Universal Pictures from a script that she is co-writing with Diablo Cody.

In a statement regarding the film, Madonna stated,

“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world,”

“The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”

Madonna has previously described the project as being

“about my struggle as an artist trying to survive in a man’s world as a woman.”

Madonna will also produce the film alongside Amy Pascal.
