Luke Evans Joins The Cast Of Pinocchio

The cast of Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio continues to grow!

As first reported by Deadline, Luke Evans has joined Pinocchio as The Coachman, the villainous man who lures young boys to Pleasure Island where they’re turned into donkeys.

Along with Evans, the cast of the film is star-studded as it already stars Tom Hanks as Geppetto and is slated to be directed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis, who also co-wrote the script with Chris Weitz. The live-action film won’t be headed to theaters as it was announced at Disney Investor Day last month that it will instead debut on the Disney+.

No word on the actual release date but Disney’s strategy to release these live-action adaptations on Disney+ is a smart move as it may ultimately lead to new subscribers.
