Luke Cage Canceled After Two Seasons On Netflix

First, we lost Iron Fist and now another Marvel series has bit the dust at Netflix. Luke Cage has been canceled after two seasons.

The axing has come as a bit of a surprise since Luke Cage’s first two seasons were very well-received. The writer’s room had been working for around 6 months producing scripts and taking notes from Netflix and Marvel. As actors including lead Mike Coulter remained under contract, a formal season 3 order was considered almost a foregone conclusion by all involved.

The cancellation of Luke Cage was a combo of creative differences and the inability for the parties involved to reach a deal on how to move forward. At this point, there are no plans for Marvel to resurrect Luke Cage on the upcoming Disney streaming service but fans are holding out hope that it could happen as rumors have suggested that Luke Cage & Iron Fist could be nabbed up by them as well.
