The next step in streaming is on its way!
Lionsgate and Hemisphere Media have launched a premium Spanish-language subscription video on demand service, Pantaya, which is aimed at the Hispanic moviegoing audience in the United States.
The launch coincides with companies strategizing their position in order to capture the burgeoning Hispanic market, growing in size and spending power. Pantaya will target Spanish-speaking and bilingual Hispanic viewers with not just current, but classic films, documentaries, concerts and other original content as well.
Univision, one of the largest Spanish networks is a marketing partner in Pantaya, contributing film titles from their library, but not an investment partner. Upon its release, Pantaya also becomes the exclusive streaming window for recent movie releases from Pantelion Films.
Pantaya is priced at $5.99 a month after a seven-day free trial.The streamer is available online and on iOS, Android and the Roku platform in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, as well as Amazon Prime members. Lionsgate CEO, Jon Feltheimer stated,
“By drawing upon the blockbuster films, vast libraries and world-class programming resources of its partners, Pantaya is positioned to become a compelling value proposition for Spanish-language and bilingual audiences across the country,”
