Kip Pardue’s Role On The Runaways In Question After Sexual Misconduct Allegations By Sarah Scott

Kip Pardue has become the latest actor to get in the crosshairs of the #MeToo Movement and now his job on Marvel’s The Runaways on Hulu may be in limbo.

As first reported by the Los Angeles Times, actress Sarah Scott claimed Pardue masturbated in front of her shortly after filming a sex scene for the indie TV project Mogulettes. She also claimed that he became aroused and placed her hand on his crotch as they lay under the covers waiting to film the scene.

Scott says after months of inaction from SAG-AFTRA, the actress agreed to enter mediation on her claim which had been set to be heard by the guild’s disciplinary committee on Friday. But the hearing was postponed after her #MeToo-appointed attorney couldn’t fly in on time from the East Coast to attend the hearing.

As for Pardue’s role on The Runaways, Hulu nor Marvel has commented but the second season for the comic book series wrapped production and is set to premiere on the streaming platform on December 21. Any consequences, if there are any, would likely arise should the show be granted a third season.

It wasn’t just Pardue’s actions that alarmed Scott but it was also his words. After he invited her into his dressing room, where he allegedly masturbated in front of her, he said “This isn’t a #MeToo thing. I’m not your employer. It’s not like I can fire you.”

Pardue has since issued a statement saying:

“I clearly misread the situation during a sex scene on set and have apologized to Sarah. I never intended to offend her in any way and deeply regret my actions and have learned from my behavior.”

That being said, Pardue denies the alleged actions that took place in his trailer and his lawyer says that his client “would welcome a SAG hearing or any other fair process to resolve this matter.”
