Karen Gillian Rumored To Be Leading The Pirates of The Caribbean Reboot

Back in 2018, news broke that Disney was exploring the possibility of revisiting the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Outside of Johnny Depp will no longer be portraying his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow, little information was revealed regarding the rebooted franchise.

That changed on Wednesday! According to comicbook.com, Karen Gillan is currently wanted by Disney to portray a leading role in a new Pirates film.

Comicbook.com also reported that the lead character of the film Redd, the iconic female character in the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions in the Disney Parks. As an avid fan of Walt Disney World and the Pirates attraction, the inclusion of Redd as the next lead film is brilliant as it pays tribute to an already established player in the attraction and also reboots a franchise without damaging the already established continuity of the franchise.

For those unaware of the Disney attraction, Redd had her own plot-twist as her scene was rebooted aboard the classic Walt Disney World and Disneyland attractions in 2018, and has had whole line of merchandise and color-trend named after her in the parks so the character is quite popular to Disney fans.
