Josh Duhamel Officially Replaces Armie Hammer In Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding

It has now been confirmed that Josh Duhamel will be replacing Armie Hammer in Shotgun Wedding, a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez. It was also announced that Jennifer Coolidge and Sonia Braga have joined the production as the mothers of Duhamel and Lopez’s characters, respectively. The news comes on the heels that Duhamel was in talks to replace Hammer after his recent social media scandal.

As we all know, Hammer exited Shotgun Wedding after some questionable DMs allegedly sent by the actor went public. They involved cannibalism & rape fantasies among other things & this unpleasant drama has caused Hammer to exit three projects, including The Offer on Paramount+, which details the making of The Godfather. Lionsgate moved quickly to replace Hammer because they wanted to get filming on the project right away and it’s reported that Lopez personally approved of Duhamel’s casting.

As for Shotgun Wedding, here is the official logline from Lionsgate:

“Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Duhamel) gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage. “Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones — if they don’t kill each other first.”
