Jon Watts In Talks To Return To Direct Third Spider-Man Film

Now that Spider-Man is back where he rightfully belongs in the MCU, Sony/Marvel is trying to ensure that the behind the scenes talent remains intact as well. It has been that director Jon Watts, who helmed Spider-Man: Homecoming & Spider-Man: Far From Home, is in final talks to return for the third installment.

The hope is that the talks will wrap up soon because both entities believe he’s essential to the success of the franchise. At the time the Sony-Disney battle went down last month, Watts didn’t have a deal for the next Spider-Man picture and he wasn’t a lock to return. Once the parent companies kissed and made up, their attention turned to securing Watts for another spin in the director’s chair.

All signs point to Jon Watts returning and once that deal is done, Spider-Man will truly be in all the right hands.
