Jessica Szohr is going from the Upper Eastside to outer space. The actress has been cast in the second season of The Orville as a series regular. Szohr will play a new member of the crew onboard The Orville.

Gossip Girl alumna Szohr is coming off a season-long arc on the Showtime comedy Shameless. Her series credits also include stints on Twin Peaks and Complication

The Orville was ordered straight to series before the fall TV season and became a steady performer on Thursday nights for FOX. That’s a very competitive night and with decent live numbers and impressive delayed viewing, a season 2 renewal was announced early by the network.
