One of the most anticipated shows on the horizon is Watchmen. Fans have been wondering the direction that the show will be taking as well as who will be starring in the upcoming series.
That question has now been answered as HBO has found its leading man for its highly anticipated take on Watchmen. Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons has been cast to lead the pilot from Damon Lindelof.
While HBO has remained quiet on character details for the series, Irons will likely play an aging and imperious lord of a British manor.
Lindelof’s take on Alan Moore’s classic story is set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws. Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original novel while attempting to break ground of its own.
Lindelof is responsible for writing the pilot script and executive produces alongside Tom Spezialy and Nicole Kassell.
The casting of Irons adds to the already announced cast that includes Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard.
