This is a huge deal for Netflix! Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Lopez has signed a multi-year, first-look deal with Netflix. The news first confirmed by Variety confirms that Lopez, along with producing partners Benny Medina and president of Nuyorican Productions Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, will produce a slate of film and television content, both scripted and unscripted, that showcase diverse female actors, writers, and filmmakers.

“The Mother, directed by Niki Caro (“Mulan”), and The Cipher, based on the novel of the same name by Isabel Ojeda Maldonado by the streamer.”
Scott Stuber, Netflix’s head of global films, said in a prepared statement,
