Jay Z to Produce Trayvon Martin Film

Jay Z is teaming up with The Weinstein Company to develop a six-part documentary series and feature film about the life of Trayvon Martin. Martin was a Florida teen who was shot and killed while walking through his father’s neighborhood unarmed and became a flashpoint for race relations in the U.S.

Jay Z and TWC won the bidding war to win the rights to two books about Martin – Lisa Bloom’s “Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It” and “Rest In Power,” written by Martin’s parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.
