Jason Statham To Be Replaced By Woody Harrelson In Man From Toronto

Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson has signed a new deal to replace Jason Statham in the upcoming film,  The Man From Toronto, and will be joining Kevin Hart in the action-comedy from Columbia Pictures.

Statham was originally in talks to star with Hart but backed out last week. Statham was insisting on making an R-rated film, while executives at Sony didn’t budge in their belief in making a film for a broader audience.

With Statham leaving the project, Sony landed on Harrelson, who is already a studio favorite having starred in two Zombieland films.

The film’s premise follows a mistaken identity as its jumping-off point after the world’s deadliest assassin, known as the Man from Toronto, and a New York City screw-up run into each other at an Airbnb. A clash of personalities, and a clash with deadly killers, ensues.
