James Gunn Confirms The Suicide Squad Will Be Rated-R

One of 2021’s most anticipated films is James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. With the upcoming release, fans were curious as to the potential of the film being rated R. The curiosity stems from 2016’s version of the film that was rumored to be rated R, however, the final film was released with a rating of PG-13. When asked on Twitter whether or not The Suicide Squad would be rated R, James Gunn confirmed that it would be.

Along with the film, Gunn is expanding the universe with The Suicide Squad spin-off TV series focusing on John Cena’s Peacemaker character. The Suicide Squad is slated to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
