#InHonorOfCarrie: Fisher’s Death Inspires Honesty About Mental Health

After news broke of Carrie Fisher’s passing, fans began to reveal their own mental health struggles on Twitter using the hashtag #InHonorofCarrie, started by NYTimes writer Ana Marie Cox. Fisher was very open about her own bipolar disorder and struggles with substance abuse. She was a strong advocate for mental illness awareness.
