The noise you hear at movie theaters this weekend is the 14 year pent up anticipation for Incredibles 2 and if that noise wasn’t loud enough, the Friday box office numbers should prove to you that the film is set to break some massive records.
Incredibles 2 grossed $71.6 million at the box office on Friday, making it the largest opening day for an animated feature. The previous record holder was Finding Dory with $53.5 million and that film went on to gross $135.1 million for the weekend.
Incredibles 2 is also much loved by everyone who has seen it as it has received an impressive “A+” CinemaScore which means legs for this film is going to be huge as it really doesn’t have any real family competition at the box office for the next few weeks.
With this Friday gross, the film is going to open beyond my $140-145 million predictions with at least $170 million in play. Some box-office analyst suggests it could open even higher than that as well.
