A lot of news came out of New York Comic-Con in regards to the fifth and final season of Gotham and along with that news, came a sizzle reel for the upcoming season.
It was revealed that Batman will indeed rise for the series finale of the show. This has been a moment the series has been building to, especially during the last couple of seasons and it looks like fans will finally get that moment.
A slew of baddies will be ready to fight the Dark Knight in season 5 including the return of Zsasz, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, & Hugo Strange There will also be some new villains added into the mix including Magpie and Bane played by Shane West. It was also confirmed that there will be a new twist on the Bane origin story and that Bane will break Alfred’s back this season.
Season 5 will be set a decade down the line and will see Bruce Wayne have his first real-life encounter with a large swarm of bats and in turn, we will be treated to seeing Batman for the first time in the series finale. What wasn’t revealed was when the show was officially returning but it will be some time midseason.
