Amazon has handed out a third season to Goliath starring Billy Bob Thornton and has added some high profile names for its next cycle.
Season three will feature Thornton as well as new cast members Dennis Quaid, Amy Brenneman, Beau Bridges, Griffin Dunne, Sherilyn Fenn, and Shamier Anderson. They join a cast that includes Nina Arianda, Tania Raymonde, Diana Hopper, Ana de la Reguera and Julie Brister. Season three will see Billy McBride (Thornton) take a case in the drought-stricken Central Valley where he comes face-to-face with a new Goliath: a billionaire rancher (Quaid) and his sister (Brenneman).
The next season will return in 2019, with Lawrence Trilling remaining as showrunner. Trilling is the third overall showrunner on the series, following Clyde Phillips (Dexter) and David E. Kelley. An episode count on season three has not yet been determined.
Goliath joins an Amazon slate that includes Jack Ryan, Man in the High Castle, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Homecoming, Sneaky Pete, Bosch, and Fleabag, as well as the upcoming The Boys, Carnival Row, Good Omens, Hanna and, eventually, Lord of the Rings.
