Blumhouse has done it again! When I wrote the predictions last week, I said I wouldn’t be surprised if Get Out went above my $20-25 million predictions and here we are on Monday with the film exceeding expectations to open with a massive $30.5 million over the weekend.
The film is riding high with a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and the opening day CinemaScore was also impressive for horror with a solid “A-“. The film cost $5 million to make so this one turned a profit by the end of the night on Friday and even though horror does see some massive drops after the first weekend, I think word of mouth on this one is good enough to allow it to stay strong in the coming weeks.
