We are a few weeks away from the release of the latest film from Robert Eggers. The Northman is one of my most anticipated films of the year and my screening could not get here any quicker. The film began screening over the past few days and first reactions have hailed the film a brutal, Viking masterpiece.

Here are the first reactions to The Northman:

In addition to Alexander Skarsgård, The Northman also stars Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe. In addition to directing the film, Robert Eggers also co-wrote the screenplay with Icelandic poet and novelist Sjón.
