First Movie Trailer Made by Artificial Intelligence for Morgan

In anticipation of 20th Century Fox’s Morgan debuting this weekend, the research team at IBM got its Watson computer to create a movie trailer for the film, making it the first ever created by artificial intelligence.

Kate Mara stars in Morgan as a corporate risk management consultant who has to decide whether she should kill an artificial intelligent being.

IBM’s Watson computer was tasked to make the scariest promotional video. In order to do so, Watson analyzed 100 classic horror movies, examining for consistencies and scariest aspects of the films, including visual and audio analysis and how these two facets work together.

Once Watson “watched” these films, he was fed all of Morgan and programmed to make a trailer. The result? Watch for yourself. Morgan hits theaters today, September 2nd.
