Fast & Furious 9 Shifting To 2021 Amid Coronavirus Concerns

The news was confirmed via this official statement on the Fast saga Instagram page:

To move a film like this is a costly task but the Fast franchise is a huge global performer & it would be hit hard in the current box office climate. The previous chapter The Fate of the Furious scored the biggest global opening in Universal’s history with $541.9 million with China delivering close to $185 million of that number. The film went on to make $1.236 billion worldwide. This is why the move is justified, despite losing what has been currently spent on marketing.

Fast & Furious 9 will now be opening April 2, 2021.
