Extraction has proven to be the perfect escapism entertainment in these quarantine times and now it’s looking to become a record-breaker for Netflix.
Netflix issued a statement over the weekend announcing the film is poised to become its most-watched feature film premiere to date. Here is the statement from the streamer:
“Extraction is well on its way to becoming the biggest-ever film premiere on Netflix, with a projected 90 million households getting in on the action in the first 4 weeks. Thanks to everyone who watched so far.”
Directed by Sam Hargrave, who was a stunt coordinator on Captain America: Civil War, Extraction stars Chris Hemsworth as a black-market mercenary named Tyler Rake, who is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned crime lord. The film features another Marvel connection as the film is written by Joe Russo and is produced with his brother Anthony Russo. The duo has directed several MCU films, including Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers: Endgame.
