Euphoria Renewed For Season 2 At HBO

I haven’t talked about this show much on here but Euphoria is a series you need to be watching. The show is a literal gut punch & it’s only getting better. The good news is that you’ll have plenty of time to catch up because Euphoria has just been renewed for a second season at HBO.

The series, starring Zendaya & loosely based on an Israeli format reinvented by Sam Levinson, has garnered buzz for offering an unfiltered look at life as a young person today. It’s also seen controversy as parents groups find the subject matter too disturbing, especially since it involves teenagers.

Levinson infused his own history of dealing with drug addiction and anxiety into the eight-episode series. On the show, Zendaya plays Rue, a 17-year-old addict fresh out of rehab. She befriends a new trans girl at her school, Jules (Hunter Schafer), and the two quickly develop an inseparable bond as they navigate the pressures of modern teen life.

Euphoria is the youngest-skewing drama on its digital platforms and is averaging 5.5 million viewers per episode, including linear replays, delayed viewing, and streaming. That’s nearly 10 times the 563,000 viewers for initial airings.
