Last month, Vin Diesel was asked about the feud with Dwayne Johnson while promoting Fast 9and the actor implied that the “feud” was actually a technique to elicit a better acting performance from the former pro wrestler. Diesel said at the time,
“I could give a lot of tough love. Not Felliniesque, but I would do anything I’d have to do in order to get performances in anything I’m producing.”
As a huge fan of Johnson since his wrestling days, I found the comments quite laughable as I doubt “The most electrifying man in entertainment” will learn anything from Diesel. Well, it seems I was not the only one that thought it was laughable as Dwayne Johnson has commented on Diesel’s comments while promoting Jungle Cruise with his co-star Emily Blunt and during an interview with “The Hollywood Reporter“, Johnson was asked what he thought about Diesel’s comments, and here is where he had to say:
“I laughed and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well. I wish them well on Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me.”
Emily Blunt and Johnson have become great friends since doing Jungle Cruise and Blunt chimed in sarcastically saying,
“Just thank God he was there. Thank God. He carried you through that.”
