Don’t Look Up Has Broken Netflix’s Weekly Viewing Record

Since the initial press screenings, Don’t Look Up has become one of the most divisive films released in 2021. As the film premiered on December 24th on Netflix, the split between the films quality has not effected the numbers.

Don’t Look Up has attracted the most viewing hours for a movie in a single week in Netflix’s history with 152.29 million hours watched globally in the week December 27-January 2. The news was confirmed to Deadline by Netflix as they celebrated the record.

Other figures released by Netflix show that the film is already the platform’s third most-watched movie (in its first 28 days) of all time, behind Bird Box and Red Notice.
