The official teaser trailer for Doctor Sleep has been released and it dives back into the terrifying world of The Shining.
The terror continues long after Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) went crazy in the isolated hotel in director Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 horror classic. The Mike Flanagan-directed follow-up follows Jack Torrance’s now-grown son Danny (Ewan McGregor), who survived the trauma 40 years ago but is still haunted by the horrifying events.
Doctor Sleep derives its title from the nickname of McGregor’s character, a hospice orderly who uses his magical “shining” gift to comfort patients before they die, helping them to “sleep.”
While Stephen King took issue with Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of his novel “The Shining,” Doctor Sleep has the official blessing of the beloved horror author, as well as the estate of the late Stanley Kubrick.
“Redrum” returns to frighten us once again when Doctor Sleep opens on November 8. Check out the first teaser poster below:
