For the second consecutive year, CinemaCon has been the site for the reveals and news of some of the most anticipated of the year. With the the reveal of the Joker trailer, DC also revealed information regarding their 2020 slate. During their panel, Warner Bros. and DC showed footage for both Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984.

The studio showed footage from and interviews with the stars of both films. During the footage, the cast stated,

“This is not Batman’s Gotham. It’s a scrappier Gotham,”

“We are not pulling any punches whatsoever.”

“I love long titles. It’s bat-s–t crazy.”

Wonder Woman‘s clip showed Diana Prince arm-in-arm with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), Diana’s love interest who was presumed to have died in a plane explosion at the end of the first movie, as the two walk by monuments in Washington.

Later in the trailer, Wonder Woman lassos a couple of villains in the Reagan-era mall as she jumps over a balcony. The new footage also features Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, who becomes a nemesis of Wonder Woman. Director Patty Jenkins, in a pre-recorded clip stated,

“This is a story we are very excited about,”

“Diana is now in her full powers.”

We will have to wait a bit for the release of these films, but it looks as thought DC is on the right track.
