Daisy Ridley is setting up her post-Star Wars slate. The Rise of Skywalker actress is in talks to star in the thriller The Ice Beneath Her, from American Sniper producer Andrew Lazar & Directors Radio Silence.
The film has been the subject of a Hollywood bidding war for months now. The story features an unreliable narrator which makes the Camilla Grebe’s 2015 source material similar to Gone Girl and The Girl on The Train. The plot revolves around a detective and psychological profiler who work to solve the case after a young woman is found beheaded in the home of a prominent businessman. The investigation quickly evolves into a race against time.
The directing team Radio Silence, which comprises of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella, is coming off the breakout comedy-horror hit Ready Or Not, which made close to $60 million globally off an estimated $6 million budget. They’re also attached to the Scream reboot and are well known for cult horror film V/H/S.
Daisy Ridley is currently in post-production on big-budget Lionsgate film Chaos Walking, which is due to be released early next year. Other than the newest Star Wars trilogy, Ridley also appeared in Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express.
