Coming Soon: Won’t You Be My Neighbor

It’s never to early to look at potential Oscar favorites, and 2019 is no different. The trailer for the upcoming documentary, Won’t You Be My Neighbor has been released and after one trailer and one viewing, we may be looking at the favorite for Best Documentary Feature at next years Academy Awards.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor looks at  vision that lead to the creation of one of the most beloved children’s television programs of all time, Mr.Roger’s Neighborhood. One of the most breathtaking moments within the trailer involved François Clemmons, who played Officer Clemmons who stated that Rogers took a stand against segregation simply by having the two of them soak their feet together in a kiddie pool, Clemmons stated,

“My being on the program was a statement for Fred,”

Academy Award winner,  Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom) is responsible for directing, Won’t You Be My Neighbor and opens in select theaters June 8th.
