Coming Soon: I, Tonya

One of the most anticipated films coming out of festival season has been I, Tonya. The biopic that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is set to open in New York and Los Angeles on December 8th, with a wide release scheduled for January 19th, released its first trailer.

While short, the trailer made cinephiles aware of the tone the film will be taking. The teaser captures the aesthetic of a classic sports movie with the over the top music while showing footage of Harding gliding over the ice while rapt fans watch, with a voice-over by Harding saying, “The haters always say, ‘Tonya, tell the truth.’ There’s no such thing as truth – I mean it’s bullshit!”

Those that have seen it have called it a surefire Oscar player! Fans will get their chance December 8th.
